Pregnancy
As a birth doula in Kent and London I provide unwavering, non-judgmental support throughout your pregnancy, labour and new motherhood. You will get unconditional reinforcement for your practical, emotional and informational needs.
Choosing someone to be with you during such a vulnerable and emotional time can be a big decision and it is important to have a lot of trust in the person supporting you. I’m sure there will be things particular to your pregnancy, birth and parenting that I have missed so please never be afraid to ask via the contact page. There is information here on the area of Kent and southeast London that I cover as a birth doula, whether at your home, birth center or hospital.
Pregnancy prep +
“You will not regret having Ruth present before and during your baby’s birth. The birth of our first baby boy was the most magical, positive, empowering and deeply bonding experience we could have ever hoped for as a family - this was in no small part due to the presence and influence of Ruth throughout. What a way to welcome our baby.”

Your Birth, Your Plan - £160
Clarity, confidence, and a plan that truly reflects you.
This one-off, in-depth session is your opportunity to get fully informed, ask all your questions, and create a personalised birth plan that feels right for you.
Held over 4 hours: in person, via video, or by phone, depending on your preference. We’ll explore your hopes, choices, and any concerns you might have. You’ll have the chance to send me your specific questions or circumstances beforehand, so we can use our time together meaningfully and efficiently.
Whether you're planning a home birth, a hospital birth, or aren’t sure yet, this session will leave you feeling more prepared, empowered, and centred. We'll walk through your options, explore the “what ifs,” and make sure your plan is flexible, realistic, and grounded in your values, not fear or pressure.
This session is ideal whether it’s your first birth, a VBAC (my special love!), or you’re simply craving a more informed and supported experience this time. I’m also a pro at cesarean birth, so supporting planned cesareans is something I specialise in.

This package is designed for those who want the knowledge, reassurance, and emotional steadiness of a doula throughout pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood, but don’t necessarily want or need in-person support at the birth itself.

Access experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate support, when you want it
Three antenatal sessions in person, covering everything you have questions on
Dedicated WhatsApp group for all your late night worries
Three relaxation calls with a script reading and time to offload
Virtual support during your birth from someone in your team, on your side, with deep experience of birth
Postnatal visit in person
Six weeks of whatsapp/message/call support postpartum
This is ideal if you want continuity of care, but aren’t planning to have a doula physically present at your birth, or if you live outside my in-person catchment area but still want personal, responsive support from someone you trust.
“It was such a comfort knowing I could reach out any time. I felt like Ruth was really walking alongside me through it all.”
You deserve a doula
Birth experiences last us a lifetime, invest in yourself, your partner and your baby.
““There’s only so much a husband, a couple, a supportive grandmother or best friend can do. She was a constant through this joyous but stressful time. She had been with us since before we’d made our birth plan or started NCT and she was still there when the proverbial hit the fan after the birth. She brought us so much calm and strength. I will always be grateful for all she’s done for us.” ”
If you have any concerns about money, you can talk to me. If I can offer you a discount, a payment plan or a skill swap - I will. I work on a trust basis, if you have enough to pay then I ask that you do. If you feel that I am a bargain and would like to give more, that money goes towards supporting family’s who would not otherwise be able to have a doula. My clients’ generosity and compassion has changed some families’ lives.
Alongside paid work, I volunteer with Doulas Without Borders who provide free of charge doulas to some of the UK's most vulnerable mothers. As a collective The Good Birth Practice donate £25 of every birth towards family based charities. Everyone who wants one deserves to have a doula.
As a member of Doula UK (DUK), my practice reflects the Doula UK philosophy and the Doula UK code of conduct.
Doula UK has a voucher scheme, so friends and family can buy you a portion of your birth care or some postnatal hours.
If you are in need of free support please contact Doulas Without Borders.
