Postnatal Package

All families are different, and I’m sure yours is unique too. That means that the care and support that you choose is special to you - my first job is to listen to what you want and to understand what would be helpful for you. Caring for families of newborn babies to ensure that they have the best start to their parenting journey. We can tackle the biggies of feeding and sleeping together, safely and calmly.

After forty or so weeks of anticipation, you have delivered your baby in the single biggest act of giving you will ever perform...But to fully inhabit your new role as mother - with its astonishing requirements for giving energy, attention and love - it is you who must be held.

would you like more support with your newborn?

Imagine having someone that intuitively knows how to help you, sometimes in ways that you didn’t quite know you were looking for.

So that when I leave you feel lighter, calmer, more confident in your own abilities.

And, no one has ever said they had too much support have they…?

Some of the things that I do as a postnatal doula:

  • Giving you some hands-free time to do anything you like, while your baby is held and happy

  • Supporting you to take a nap while you know your baby is safe and cared for

  • Make sure you always have a full tummy of nutritious, yummy food

  • Running you a beautiful bath for you to soak in

  • Support with feeding your baby, in whatever way you are choosing to feed

  • Helping you to feel confident with nappy changing, bathing and all the other new jobs

  • Doing some light housework (washing, cleaning, ironing, washing up etc.)

  • Supporting you on trips out of the house, especially useful after surgery

  • Listening to your birth story with you (and your partner)

  • Support at doctors appointments or anywhere else you need to be and would like help

Breastfeeding support

  • Breastfeeding is a choice, often hampered by challenges that can be overcome by enough of the right support

  • I am an ABM Breastfeeding Mother Supporter (Qualified January 2019)

  • I am an ABM Breastfeeding Counselor (in training)

  • For as long as you need - I can be at the other end of the phone during and after our time together

  • If you have questions and complexities outside my scope of knowledge and skill, I have a long list of trustworthy people to refer you to.

Postnatal Care & Support Package

  • 10 hours: 5 x 2 hour blocks, £30 per hour = £300 for 10 hours

Nights

Maybe the nights are feeling longer and longer or one of you has to go away for a night and you want another pair of hands. Whatever the reason, it is so ok to ask for help.

  • Reliable, compassionate, non-judgmental support

  • 10pm to 6am £150

  • Book via 07886199300 or contact me here

A note about fees: money is not why I do this, but I need it, to care for myself and my family. I do not want money to get in the way of my supporting a family who I feel would benefit from my support, so if you are concerned about my fees, talk to me. This works on trust, if you can afford to pay the full amount then I ask you to pay in full. We can usually find a way. I am also open to being paid in kind, as well as cash – do you or your partner have a skill you can share? Let me know!

Remember that Doula UK also has a voucher scheme, so friends and family can buy you doula support and if you are in receipt of state benefits, Doula UK is working towards becoming a charity to offer free access to those that cannot afford it.

As a member of Doula UK (DUK), my practice reflects the Doula UK philosophy and the Doula UK code of conduct.
